Afro style

July 24, 2018
My mother land is Nigeria. Like other African countries we have our own traditions in wearing clothes.
African clothes are dresses, tunics, trousers, skirts, waistcoats, jackets and other types of clothing mainly from cotton, linen, silk, leather and their combination. In Nigeria, there is no concept of male or female color, such as in Russia. The same is true with various ornaments. Men wear all the bright and deep colors and any kind of ornament. Men usually wear a wide tunic - medium (to the hips), to the knee or long, slightly above the ankles with loose trousers. Often they are worn with the same trousers. Such clothing set can be either with a drawing or without. Natural fabrics are painted with geometric ornaments and prints with nature and animals of Africa.
African ornament

The patterns of Africa are distinguished by contrasting combinations of colors, an amazing combination and the transformation of all possible geometric shapes. The use of cold colors and shades is not typical for Africans. African ornamentation, as a rule, is proportional. Patterns contain many elements, and drawings are executed in the manner of primitivism. They do not draw small elements, the image is more schematic than the exact one. Floristic drawings are also often found. The Nigerian ornament is characterized by the use of the image of a lizard, surrounded by a contrasting geometric pattern.

For African fashionistas , there is a huge selection of shoes. Mostly it is made of genuine leather. Also no less significant role is played by jewelry made of gold, wood, leather and other materials in the wardrobe of every Nigerian men.
